Private Guide in Paris was founded by Marc Candes, a licensed professional tour guide since 2015 with a lifelong passion for French history and culture.

Born just steps away from the Palace of Versailles, Marc developed an early fascination with history—particularly that of Paris. After spending several enriching years in Spain, he returned to France to study Literature and History at Sorbonne University, deepening his understanding of the cultural heritage he is proud to share today.

Since 2015, Marc has had the privilege of guiding visitors from all over the world through Paris, designing tailor-made private tours for couples, families, students, and corporate groups.

Today, Private Guide in Paris operates as a boutique agency specializing in private tours and bespoke experiences. While Marc personally leads many visits, the agency also collaborates with a carefully selected network of certified guides and experts, each specialized in their field—art history, museums, gastronomy, photography, architecture, or themed itineraries.

This approach allows us to offer the right guide for each experience, whether it’s a museum visit, a historical walking tour, a food experience, an academic group visit, or a corporate event.

Our tours can be enjoyed on foot, by public transportation like a local, or with a private vehicle and driver—always adapted to your pace, interests, and expectations.
